Hello

I'm a traditional acupuncturist working from a quiet and comfortable treatment room at The Bridge Centre for Natural Health in Mickleover, Derbyshire.

I treat patients with a wide range of conditions and symptoms. My particular interest is in treating mental and emotional health and well-being and women's health - gynaecological, fertility, menopause and beyond.

My focus is Five Element acupuncture and I combine this with other Chinese Medicine techniques to create integrated and individual treatment based upon what you need.

My Story

I first sought acupuncture to support my IVF journey.  Alongside this, I was working long hours in a high level corporate job.  On the face of it I was successful.  Underneath the gloss, I felt sad, stressed and disconnected from my own health and well-being.

Acupuncture helped me to feel better both physically and mentally. It helped regulate my cycles and improved my mood.  I felt calmer, more able to make positive changes and face challenges.  I was more connected with myself and others.

I could not
have managed the long process of having my two children without my acupuncturist's help.   She also inspired me to retrain in this amazing and elegant practice.

My Approach

Whatever reason you seek acupuncture, I will work with you to move towards your personal health goals and overall well-being.  I will treat you as a whole person, not just your symptoms.  I have a wealth of knowledge of Chinese medicine theory that I'm able to share if, or when it's appropriate to you.  I provide a calm and positive space where you can relax, feel listened to and cared for.

My Training and Qualifications

I trained with the renowned Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa and gained a Distinction in their Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture, a 3 year degree accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board and the Professional Standards Authority.  I also received a Distinction for my research project into Five Element Acupuncture for Long COVID.

My training covered all aspects of Chinese medicine and acupuncture theory with a focus on the Five Element approach which means I treat holistically, taking into account all signs of imbalance within the body.  I'm also qualified in other Chinese medicine techniques - Moxibustion, Auricular Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua sha, Tui Na and Teishin.

I have also achieved an additional qualification in cosmetic acupuncture for facial enhancement.

As a member of The British Acupuncture Council I adhere to their Codes of Safe Practice and Professional conduct. I'm registered with the Professional Standards Authority.

My clinic is licensed by Derby City Council and I hold full medical malpractice and public/products liability insurance cover.
